ONE WORD: MOOD!
I whole-heartedly believe that photography is not showing up and saying cheese. It is an understanding between photographer and the human experience. In my years of photography, I have learned to see what differentiates you from the rest; what makes you the most beautiful. I love what I do because it makes you love you!
Capturing the human experience
A large part of capturing the human experience is making sure my clients are feeling comfortable, confident, and having fun!
My clients can attest that I have no qualms about acting ridiculous to get a laugh, laying down in a puddle, or being out in the cold to get the most natural shot of you and your love!
An engagement session is the perfect opportunity to build a rapport with your photographer and become more and more comfortable in front of the camera. Maddie and Nate really nailed their colors and looks for this south Philadelphia engagement session. I strongly encourage doing two different looks for your session, one casual and one more formal. When we plan together, I will give you an engagement style guide to help choose what looks are best for your vibe.
These two really love their neighborhood, so we chose to shoot in that area. We walked around and got to know their favorite spots. Including their neighborhood pizza shop!
Here’s what they’re saying…
” …I am not one to like taking photos and yet Alli was able to capture the best and most candid moments of our wedding day without us feeling like we were constantly “posing” for photos. She also went above and beyond to make sure we got all of the images we wanted for our engagement shoot by doing a second fun session with us at an ice rink at no extra charge. ” – Ciara, 2022
“We absolutely loved working with Alli for our engagement photos! She is so easy to talk to right from the beginning! …I was a little intimidated thinking about posing for a whole photo shoot. But she dispelled my awkwardness and made us feel like gossip girl models running around the city! Ali feels like a friend who knows my best angles and how to make me laugh. She captured the beauty of our true selves and our beloved city.” – Kimberly, 2022
Another aspect of ensuring my clients are content and comfortable is shooting in places they love. Especially for engagement and portrait sessions, the options are endless. For Madison and Nate, we took some photos in their home, walked around their favorite spots, and even got some Angelo’s pizza (which ended up being some of my favorite shots!). It was a true Philly experience and a perfect documentation of their love.
