Photographing Catholic weddings
Catholicism has forever been the foundation of my family. Now, it serves as common thread between my business and the fabulous individuals that I get to call clients. I was raised Catholic, but drifted from the faith when I went to college. Since being back home on the East Coast, it has found its way back into my life. When Catholic couples find me, it is meant to be; we just get each other. The similarities between our families make all of their weddings feel like home!
Lillian’s sister, Bess, found me on Philly in Love! , an amazing resource for couples getting married in the Philadelphia area.
Building a timeline
I take photo timelines very serious on wedding days. It is crucial that we get ample time for details, portraits of the couple, and family formals. I don’t ever want a client to feel rushed.
Before wedding day. Lillian, Nick, and I made sure to review our timeline and make sure there was a chance to capture all their most important photo goals. This includes each and every family member that needed to be photographed. Yes, that’s right, we make comprehensive lists.
On wedding day, we met at the Marriott downtown in Philadelphia and took the trolley to all of our photo spots. Extra hours are worth every penny to keep this process smooth.
We also planned for extra time between their ceremony at the stunning Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul and cocktail hour to really milk their time with the bridal party and portraits. SO worth it when you have a big family ready to party come cocktail time!
We ended the night with lots of candid photos of EVERYONE DANCING IN PHILLIES GEAR! The world series was in full swing at the time, so we of course had to represent.
I’ll never stop thanking these gals for keeping me around, and I hope to be there to photograph more of their special moments in the future!
More than just wedding photography
One of my favorite aspects of my work is getting to know my clients and their families as they move through each chapter of their lives. It’s more than just wedding photography; it’s about remembering their stories in artful and meaningful ways. I’d love to be a part of your story too, explore my services and reach out with questions!
