The American Swedish Historical Museum (ASHM) is one of my favorite venues in Philadelphia. (See my top list of Philly venues here!)  It offers lots of unique architecture and rich history, paired with the scenic elements of FDR Park.

On this picturesque day in November, the ASHM was the perfect backdrop to Maddie and Stephen’s classic style.

Weddings at American Swedish Historical Museum

One of the reasons I love weddings at the ASHM is because of their great ceremony and reception options. Maddie and Stephen chose to have their reception in the cozy tent outside. The warm twinkle lights on the November day made their reception feel magical.

The ASHM is also home to one of the best caterers in the city, Jeffery A Miller Catering, so along with a beautiful setting, you get top-notch service and delicious food. Stephen and Maddie got connected with me through Jeffery A Miller Catering, so I knew that they had great taste from the get-go!

More perks of weddings at the American Swedish Historical Museum: it’s located in city center, has loads of accessible parking, and can accommodate up to 200 guests. What’s not to love?

Maddie & Stephen’s Wedding

Maddie and Stephen are both from big families and celebrating with their loved ones was the most important part of the day. They wanted a minimalist, low formality wedding that was centered around being together and celebrating their love. And they absolutely succeeded!

Their wedding ceremony and reception was all at the museum, which left lots of time to dance the night away to the music of Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa, Tame Impala, and Fleetwood Mac. These two had great taste, and really pulled off the cool and casual vibe, from Stephen’s bowtie to Maddie’s Jenny Yoo dress.
