Alexa & Drew had a gorgeous Philadelphia wedding the Cescaphe’s newest venue, The Lucy.
The Lucy: An Iconic Philadelphia Venue
The
Cescaphe venues are known in Philadelphia for their high-end, luxurious weddings. Their modern spaces are designed with elegance and class that make every wedding feel like a magical event.
The Lucy is the newest addition to the Cescaphe family of venues, having opened in 2018. It is located on Philadelphia’s Avenue of the Arts. It’s 19th century details with modern accents makes it a gorgeous place to have a wedding. The space feels traditional, yet modern, and made the perfect backdrop for Alexa and Drew’s big day.
As soon as The Lucy opened Alexa knew that she wanted to be married there. “As soon as we first stepped into The Lucy, we both knew our wedding was 100% happening there.” I love that confidence in decision making as a photographer!
A Dream Wedding at The Lucy
The Cescaphe weddings are a dream to shoot. They are wedding professionals, so everything is organized and efficient. They flawlessly handle all the details, so you can focus on just enjoying your day. This was my first shoot at The Lucy, and it had pops of color, a bit of retro and plenty of space to dance. A great choice made by Alexa and Drew!
Another great choice made was the amazing vendor team they assembled. All of these folks worked together to create a truly beautiful day.

About Alexa & Drew
Alexa and Drew are truly meant to be. When you meet Alexa, you immediately feel the kindness and warmth in her personality. Not to mention she is adorable! I asked Drew when I met them “How did you know she was the one?” He said, without hesitation “I just wanted to be around her all the time.” I thought that was just one of the sweetest things I’ve ever heard.
These two are Penn State grads that met as freshman in the dorms but didn’t cross paths again until later while Drew was working in DC. Some stroke of fate brought Alexa to visit the city, they caught up, and the rest is history.

PHILADELPHIA WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
Getting to know Alexa & Drew
When I first talked with Alexa on the phone, she was super complimentary of my work. I love when clients take time to view my work before meeting each other so they get a good understanding of my style and envision what their photos will look like.
Next, we talked about the special moments they were planning to incorporate into their day. Alexa lost her dad not long ago, so one of the first things we talked about was how special her mom and sister are. We knew they would be really important pieces of her wedding day. Her mom walked Alexa down the aisle, which made for some really special photos.
Alexa’s bridesmaid party was a group of her friends from Radnor High School (which, fun fact, is right down the road from where I went to high school)! I love the personal connections I have with clients in Philly. Being a part of their day makes me feel like I’m spending time with old friends!
Special Moments at The Lucy
Alexa says: “It is tough to pick our best memory from our wedding day, but if we have to choose one it would be our first look. We did our first look right after we finished getting ready and before we went to take photos with our wedding party. We did it on the grand staircase in The Lucy and it is something neither of us will ever forget. It was such a special moment to see each other for the first time that day, knowing that it was going to be the best day of our lives.”
And Alexa and Drew can attest that is really was their best day! From their first look on the steps of The Lucy to Alexa’s mother daughter dance, this wedding was a perfect combination of classy and fun. This crew knows how to PARTY, and I felt lucky to be a part of it!
